Veterans Education Benefits

Discover a wide range of veteran benefits to help pay for your education at UMGC Asia.

For students using VA benefits, be aware that President Trump has signed into law a bill that allows students who have transitioned from hybrid to online instruction as a result of the declared national emergency to continue to receive their full VA benefits, including the in-residence housing allowance. UMGC is working with the VA to make any necessary changes, and no action is required by any UMGC student using VA educational benefits already certified by the university for the Spring 2020 term.

Explore options for affording your education. As a military veteran, you may be eligible for a wide range of payment options and other resources. Explore all of the resources online in the UMGC Vessey Veterans Resource Center.

You can use your veterans education benefits to help pay for your education at UMGC. Your eligibility depends on a number of factors.

If you have specific questions about your eligibility or are trying to decide between benefits, please contact the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to discuss your specific situation.

If you have questions about how your benefits will work at UMGC, please contact our specially trained veterans advisors.

Note: All Active Duty Service Members (including Guard and Reserve) must contact their Education Service Officer (ESO) or Education Counselor within your branch of service prior to enrolling in any college or university. To receive the reduced military tuition rate, you must submit documentation to verify your eligibility in accordance with the procedures for receiving the military tuition rate within 30 days after applying for admission to UMGC. If you do not submit sufficient documentation within the deadline, your tuition rate will be changed to the appropriate rate.
