At UMGC, we thank our military for their service and strive to serve them with an affordable education. UMGC awarded more than $21 million in scholarship funds to our students last aid year. We also offer reduced tuition rates on undergraduate and graduate programs to eligible servicemembers and their families as well as scholarships for active-duty servicemembers, spouses, veterans, and caregivers who qualify. We are proud to be a Yellow Ribbon Program School and are here for you to help navigate Tuition Assistance and Veteran Education Benefits. We offer:

  • Hybrid courses that allow you to maximize your housing allowance
  • No-cost digital resources in place of textbooks for most courses
  • An interest-free monthly payment plan
  • Flexible transfer credit policies. At UMGC, we value your experience, so you can earn up to 90 credits toward a bachelor’s for prior learning and relevant life and work experience or transfer up to 12 credits toward a master’s for relevant experience. Plus, eligible enlisted E5-E9 servicemembers and previously enlisted veterans may be able to receive up to 12 credits for select undergraduate courses based on their rank. Find out if you qualify.

MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation activities for institutions of higher education, including distance learning, correspondence education, and direct assessment programs, throughout the United States. MSCHE’s most recent action for UMGC was a reaffirmation of accreditation status on November 20, 2025.
