Study in an IACBE-Accredited MBA Program

UMGC's School of Business has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) located at 11960 Quivira Road in Overland Park, Kansas, USA. For a list of accredited programs, please view our IACBE member status page.

IACBE's accreditation process examines if a program is functioning effectively, accomplishing its mission, and teaching students what they are intended to learn. This requires that its member institutions follow a process of continuous quality improvement that builds student competencies and prepares them to succeed professionally.

Practice Real-World Skills in Your MBA Courses

Throughout the MBA curriculum, your instructors will assign coursework that is designed to help you prioritize real-world skills and experience. In past courses, students have been able to complete the following course projects:

  • Craft an international business plan that requires devising a marketing strategy, developing financial projections, and creating a strategy implementation plan for a U.S.-based medical devices company.

  • Conduct a situation audit to review various aspects of an organization, including its mission, goals, and values; organizational strategy; organizational size and structure; critical resources; leadership, governance, and management; strengths and weaknesses; and capacity for learning and change.

  • Analyze a company’s investment activities, debt service, and taxes, and determine how to increase productivity with the objective of improving the company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA).
