All applicants must provide proof of English proficiency in the form of official test scores on an approved examination (e.g., TOEFL, EIKEN, Duolingo, or IELTS) prior to admission to the Bridge Program. Applicants must submit documentation of high school completion in English.
- Japanese citizens without SOFA status must obtain approval through their designated prefectural government agency.
- Base employees (IHA/MLC) must submit a supervisor’s endorsement letter confirming base employment.
Students educated outside of the United States may be admitted into either the Bridge Program or directly into degree-seeking status based on their English proficiency. Acceptable English proficiency test scores must have been earned within the past five years.
