UMGC Asia Commencement — Okinawa
Celebrate your achievement at UMGC Commencement ceremonies in Okinawa.
Welcome to the UMGC Asia 2022 Commencement in Okinawa - April 16, 2022
Each year UMGC Asia celebrates the accomplishments of our graduates and graduate candidates with four commencement ceremonies in the spring. This year's Okinawa ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Kadena Officers' Club at 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM on April 16, 2022. Graduates have been assigned to the ceremonies based on last name. Graduates whose last name begins with A-L are invited to attend the 10:00 AM ceremony. Graduates whose last name begins with M-Z are invited to attend the 3:00 PM ceremony. The commencement ceremony may transition to a virtual ceremony on the same day and time if COVID-19 restrictions prevent UMGC from hosting an in-person ceremony. Notification of any changes will be communicated via e-mail to all registered graduates two weeks prior to the ceremony date.
Students who have graduated in the Summer, Fall, or Winter (MBA only) of the previous year with an associate's degree or higher are automatically eligible for attending this year's commencement. An example of this would be students who graduated in Summer 2021, Fall 2021, or Winter 2022 (MBA only) are automatically invited to the Spring 2022 commencement ceremonies.
Students who are graduate candidates for the Spring 2022 Term (meaning they have applied for graduation in their MyUMGC by the February 15th deadline) are also eligible to participate in commencement. If your completion date does not fall within the aforementioned terms, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. RSVP e-mails will be sent to all eligible graduates and will include direct links to the RSVP pages. If you think that you are eligible for commencement but have not received an e-mail from UMGC Asia inviting you to RSVP by March 1, 2022 please contact your local academic advisor or our commencement team.
You can order your commencement regalia through Oak Hall — Please order your regalia at least 3-4 weeks before your ceremony to allow time for shipping. All graduates and guests 18 and older must present their CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (or a picture of it) or official vaccination documentation from your country of record, a government-issued ID, and a DD3150 to be permitted to enter the facility. Children aged 12-17 need to show their vaccination card showing they are fully vaccinated. For attendees 2 years of age or older, masks must be worn inside the facility at all times, unless actively eating.
